Goldman Sachs buys out angel investment in Purplle

Two early stage angel investors in online cosmetics products retailer Purplle have received a 40X return on their angel investment over a 9 year period. Abhinav Sinha and Anirudha Gopalakrishnan who had invested 25 lakhs and 20 lakhs respectively in 2011 made 10 crores and 8 crores on their investment. Purplle sells around 800 beauty and and personal care brands and plans to add a total of 1400 brands by end of 2020. The platform also stocks around 40,000 SKUs. Purplle also markets its own private label.
